The Newcomers’ Club of Greater Peoria will hold its monthly luncheon on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Alexander’s Steakhouse, 100 Alexander Street, Peoria IL.
Samantha Kinsey, Volunteer Specialist with GoodGuides will be speaking about the various programs offered by Goodwill Industries.
This event is open to the public and the Newcomers’ Club is open to all women who have lived in the Tri-County area for less than five years or have had a recent lifestyle change.

The Newcomers Club of Greater Peoria seeks to encourage friendships among new residents and to promote their involvement in the community and its social activities. We welcome residents who have moved to the area within the last five years and those who have had a recent lifestyle change (i.e. stay-at-home mom, empty nester, retired etc.) and wish to meet new people in the area. Currently, the club is made up of over 100 members of all ages and various stages of live who have relocated to Peoria from various parts of the world. The Newcomer’s Club of Greater Peoria was founded in 1936 by Mrs. Josephine Putnam and over the years has had thousands of members. The Newcomers’ Club meets monthly for a luncheon and there are many additional daytime and evening activities scheduled throughout each month. The Club also hosts an annual auction for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
