Are you looking for an outing to do with the kids indoors? Forest Park Nature Center offers several activities to keep the little ones busy. Kids will play, explore, and learn with real stuffed animals, discovery drawers, creature cages, books to read, and tons of room to run around. My son and I met with friends there for a playdate.
The playdate was all little boys, who loved the cockroaches and snakes in the cages. They pointed out all the stuffed birds throughout the center. The stuffed beaver fascinated them, but kinda grossed out the moms, especially the tail.
The boys played with the animal puppets and the blocks in the discovery drawers. They pulled out the real animal furs, and wore them over their heads pretending to be different animals. They felt the different textures of rocks and bones.
After exploring everything in the discovery drawers and the rest of the nature center, the toddler boys burned off more energy running around the room and wrestling, since there’s a wide open space. Kids will have a blast at the Forest Park Nature Center. Check it out this winter.
