If you’re looking for enrichment classes for your little ones, check out the programs below. These programs are for babies to elementary school-age kids. Some may have all ready started, but they may still accommodate you, if there’s room.  Also, when the grandparents ask what the kids want for Christmas, suggest an enrichment class.  The grandparents chipped in for Kindermusik classes for my own kids in the past as a Christmas gift.  My kids loved it!  Below are links to various programs.

The Bethlehem Experience at the United Presbyterian Church on Dec 1

On Saturday, December 1st from 2:00-5:00 PM at the United Presbyterian Church, you are invited to experience Bethlehem when Jesus was born. This is an event for all ages. You’ll see the church Fellowship Hall and adjoining rooms transformed into first-century Bethlehem. You can register for Caesar Augustus’s census and get a special “I Registered” sticker. You can step into the synagogue and learn the story of the dreidel, make your own, and play the dreidel game.

The 125th Annual Santa Clause Parade is the longest running holiday parade in the country. AmericanProfile.com had a great article showcasing the parade (better than anything I can write). My son has been concerned since October that Christmas stuff is out at the stores.  Your kids have probably noticed this too.  Since there's so much Xmas on tv and the stores all ready, I wanted to focus more on Thanksgiving in the home.  So we did (or tried) a a few Thanksgiving crafts- Pine Cone Turkey, Hand Turkey, & Thankful List

 

America Recycles Day is Nov 15

Info from Peoria County Recycling.  County Recycling will be at Hy-Vee on Nov 15 from 10am-12pm.

 

America Recycles Day is celebrated nationally on November 15th. This is a day to bring attention to closing the loop and buying recycled products. Successful recycling calls for 3 steps:

 

1. Collection of commodities-This is our part. We place accepted items into the recycling bin at home or a drop-off site.
